Kansas Secretary of Corrections Roger Werholtz announced today that the Department of Corrections will receive $289,768 under the federal Second Chance Act Prisoner Reentry Initiative to further advance the Kansas Offender Risk Reduction and Reentry Plan.

The 28th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held Friday, May 7, beginning at noon at the law enforcement monument on the northeast corner of the Statehouse grounds.
One law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty since May 2009, Sedgwick County Deputy Sheriff Brian Etheridge, will be honored this year.
