National Institute of Corrections Technical Assistance Report: Kansas Department of Corrections (Jan 2010)
Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson requested assistance from the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) to review the policies and training procedures related to staff sexual misconduct and cross gender supervision in the Kansas Department of Corrections, and in particular at the Topeka Correctional Facility. NEWS RELEASE: Governor Parkinson and Attorney General Six to Honor Fallen Officers during 28th Annual Memorial Ceremony (April 30, 2010)
The 28th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held Friday, May 7, beginning at noon at the law enforcement monument on the northeast corner of the Statehouse grounds. One law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty since May 2009, Sedgwick County Deputy Sheriff Brian Etheridge, will be honored this year.
